There was a time many years ago when lawyers gave Opinions of Title on real estate purchases. Some still do, but if a banl is lending a part of the purchase price you canb expect a requirement of the loan that a title insurance policy be issued. Of course, it always was an issue of what happened to the value of the attorney's Opinion once the attorney retired or passed away. Title insurance removes those issue. |
